Still Wandering in Hostel Corridor

Hi all,

Few months before leaving IIT Bombay, when my mind was wondering if i have to close this account or not, I had no clue how vivid the memories could remain even after leaving it. Since, this was created as a canvas to portray every shades of my life in IIT Bombay, I was confused if i have completed the picture or not. During the last days of stay it was pretty hard to post a blog entry regarding the feelings we were having, but i never knew how the feelings of nostalgia would compel me to start typing again and chatter the old story again and again.

Of course, quite a few of the readers would love to know about life after IIT Bombay, but truly speaking, however marvelous and luxurious it might be, it is never comparable to the life we had in campus. You will hardly find an opportunity to play water counter strike in the corridor till 3am, nobody will disturb you in your room and spoil your whole day or you wont have the whole wing in your room trying to cheer you up just because you are pretending to cry :P

I have heard many people suggesting me to cherish the happy moments instead of missing it, but never quite understood it, but today, every time I remember those days, it brings smiles to my face, may be i have started cherishing those moments of my stay at the campus :)

West Bengal name changed to Paschimbanga - how justifiable and acceptable is that?

Hi all,

It is the age of moving to sandy from sandeep, Dj from Daljeet, but Mamata Banerjee has chosen the opposite pth, moving back to Paschimbanga from a quite cool name West Bengal. Paschimbanga sounds nice but why not bangla? and why the hell name change? I had a lot of questions on my mind and was surfing the net to get something logical. Today's Anandabazar front page highlights the keys points regarding this issue. I am just

briefly pointing them out.

We need name change to:
  1. Go up in the alphabetic order of states in India.
  2. Because West Bengal comes at the end of state list in India, by the time West Bengal representatives get the chance to discuss something, people have already fallen asleep :D
  3. Since, Paschimbanga is what the name of west bengal is, in its official language bangla (bengali), it is recommended to keep both the name same.
These reasons reminded me that I am leaving in India :) It is absolutely insane (insane is the word most appropriate here) to spend so much money for the name change just to go up in the order and if it is the sole reason then Bangla makes more sense as
  1. People of West Bengal calls their land as bangla, there is huge sentiment associated with the name Bangla. Mamatadi would have gained a lot of public support if it was named bangla. Whereas, paschimbanga will bring negative support to her leadership.
  2. Bangla sounds good, not like the ancient name Paschimbanga, which would be phonetically tough to pronounce by people having mother tongue other than bengali.
  3. Bangla is alphabeticall way above than paschimbanga.
I consider there was a possibility for Mamatadi to gain a bit of public support if Bangla was cosen instead of paschimbanga. Obviously, taking anything other than paschimbanga means changing all the bengali documents which doubles the amount of effort and budget. That is might have been the sole reason for sticking to the name paschimbanga.

According to me, I don't think this name change will make any difference apart from wasting a lot of money. Mamatadi should concentrate more on doing effective stuffs other than keeping watermarks of her party in the history of West Bengal. Keeping general public sentiment aside, Paschimbanga is acceptable to me, as my schooling was in bengali medium and hence, I recognize (and also prefer) that name more than West Bengal or Bangla. Bangla sounds more like bangladesh which is not my country. Also, the word paschim reminds me of the ancient land bangla whose western part is my state. Being in West Bengal, I have felt the ambiguity that both the people of west bengal and people of Bangladesh call their land as sonar bangla or bangla. So, bangla, bangladesh, sonal bangla all sound like the same land, whereas banga or paschimbanga keeps itself apart from Bangladesh. There could be huge debate on this issue since it is a subjective issue that depends on person to person and his/her sentiments attached to their mother land. Just to remind my readers that this is entirely my own opinion and I apologize if I have hurt anyone's sentiment.

Life in Delhi, Noida @ Opera Solutions

Hi all,

It has been a long time since my last post. Right now, I am residing in laxmi nagar in East Delhi. I have joined Opera Solutions in the previous month and things have remained pretty interesting in my corporate life. Delhi looked nice to me as well as pretty rough too, for which this place is known as :)

Already, i have started hating Delhi metro despite it being fully air conditioned. The quality of the food and water served here are pretty bad and that lead me to cooking which i am enjoying a bit here. The office is nice, and people there are quite helpful in whatever way I wanted. Well, right i dont have anything more to share with.. will keep posting about me and myself. Life in IIT Bombay is transformed to Life in Delhi & Noida in Opera Solutions.

Singham - fails to repeat dabaang effect

Hello all,

Anyone wants to see dabaang kind a movie rush to the hall, but i won't say Singham achieves somewhere close to what dabaang achieved. But, the movie was worst watching in hall.

I have nothing to say about the storyline, it is almost exact copy of Dabaang storyline. However, i felt the casting was good. Kajal Aggarwal acted very freely and looked very nice, she looked talented. The tall, gorgeous girl was worth staring at. Ajay did nice job. His hunk look did match the acting style and the role. Well, it looked awesome to see Ajay's look. Well, recently I saw in one blog post that Salman praised about it. Apart from this, I like to specially mention the acting of Prakhash Raj. I liked his appearance as villain. He along with Ajay made a lot of comedy in the film. Also, a few marathi dialogues drew positive energy into the movie. Even if the meanings were unknown to most of the delhites, it fetched whistles in multiplex :)

Despite the good performances of all castings, the ending was cheesy and so called bollywood type. The storyline could have been better modified to make it a nice movie.

Bheja Fry 2 Movie Review

Hi all,

Keeping in mind the awesome performance in Bheja Fry, it was tough to come up with a better script, acting in its sequel Bheja Fry 2. But, Vinay Pathak strikes again, with his natural acting skills and in born talent, he made yet another to-be-remembered movie. It was great watching how different Bheja Fry 2 story line is, yet so much in sink with the theme of Bheja Fry.

Looking at the casting, Kay Kay Menon was perfect in his role. In fact, i think Kay Kay Menon with Vinay Pathak in this plot was a perfect match. Minissha lamba was as usual struggling with her acting skills. Why the hell she looks so cold in every movie? Otherwise, the casting was good.

Though, I liked the movie, I felt a bit of over acting by Vinay Pathak at the time of appearance and felt needlessness of the augmentation of bikini girl part in the lonely island.

However, ignore the minute illogical part of the story line, bheja fry 2 will seem to be a good entertainment package. Do watch it.

Few Days Left in IIT Bombay

Hi all,

"Every Start has to come to an end".. This is what circling in my mind all the time.. I have to leave this awesome campus very soon.

I remember the first day i entered the campus in a rented taxi, seeing the unknown campus in shear amazement. From day one, I liked it. It was a rainy day, wet campus is as lonely as possible, we passed Kresit building approaching towards our hostel H-12, don't know where the hell it is. A helpful person in the campus helped me with the direction. The taxi ran slowly and I was feeling so happy to enter a place I never dare to dream to be in :) No, I can never forget that day, it will be in the book of nostalgia for me.

Now, I feel like its Hogwarts, and the H-12 as the huge castle, just like Harry Potter used to be in. Really, i tried to find the similarity between IITB and Hogwarts. In my eyes, i feel the same emotions flowing in my veins like Harry Potter felt. I had had good friends, tremendous pressure, frustrations, happiness, achievements, success, failure, kiddish life, playing so many things everyday, memorable trips, adventures with water scooters, banana boat, trekking and so so many things.

I can never forget our placement week, such an eventful week will never happen in my whole life. It is not possible to describe those feelings, one who faced it can only appreciate it.
The main reason behind so much attachment to IITB is because it is my second home. I call it my "ghar" and kolkata to be my hometown. I will definitely miss this place, sometimes, I walk alone in the corridor, in the campus and I look at the fields, I look at the powai lake, I go the places we used to make so fun, i used to talk to myself and try to feel the same for the last time. I can never forget these feelings, it will be always with me in my heart.

Hope, I will stay a bit more days in this campus and will not be too hard to leave from here...

Life in IIT Bombay Continues

Hi all,

It has been a long time I have not posted anything, but that does not imply that life has become stagnant. Both IIT Bombay and my life is flowing at a high pace. We had a visit to Kashid beach which deserves a special post to be described. Recently, I have started reading Rabindra rachanaboli which has been made publicly available in one website. It was nice to see my undergrad university has significantly contributed to that project. Nevertheless, I am just not in a mood to post something on my blog. Hope, I will post something interesting in few days, but nevertheless, I am quite sure this mediocre post will get its honour once I leave this campus.

Candle Light March in IIT Bombay - - - our Voice Against Corruption

Hi all,

For the last few days, something different is happening in India, Common People have started raising their voice against corruption, and the one who motivated all of us the most is named Anna Hazare. It is redundant to explain who he is and what is his lakshya.

This blog is not about whether Jan Lokpal Bill will remove the corruption or not, how member of an independent body will be selected and be kept uncorrupted and whether it is advisable to allow un-elected to be given more power that elected. This post is about the voice that raise in our campus, IIT Bombay campus in the evening of April 8,2011.
Personally, I would love not to see ourselves protesting like this in our own campus. But, we are compelled by the circumstances. We have kept our anger suppressed for long, we have talked about the corruption "who are the culprits" and all, enough in our mess, in our mail boxes, now the time has come to speak, to raise a Voice Against Corruption. No doubt the path is dictated by Shri Anna Hazare, his initiative has given us the platform to manifest our demands, but the actual agitation comes in our mind by observing the intentional negligence of Government on the issue of corruption. They are least bothered about the questions being asked to them.

Hence, whatever is happening in India, was required. The following are some video footage i captured in the camera, hope this would add enough support to the group of people in India who supports or wants to support "India Against Corruption (IAC)"

10 magical moments of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011

On yer bike, son

Captains of the 14 World Cup teams paraded at Dhaka's historic Bangabandhu Stadium for the opening ceremony in a fleet of brightly coloured rickshaws, the transport of choice in the teeming Bangladeshi capital. Indian singer Sonu Nigam and Bangladesh-based Runa Laila, as well as veteran Canadian rocker Bryan Adams, were the headline acts at the event.

Lasith Malinga's hat-trick

Sri Lanka's king of sling claimed a second World Cup hat-trick in a six-wicket haul against hapless Kenyain Colombo. Malinga sent back Tanmay Mishra, Peter Ongondo and Shem Ngoche in successive balls. In 2007, he had taken four wickets in four balls against South Africa.

Kevin O'Brien's record century

Irish whirlwind Kevin O'Brien scored the fastest-ever World Cup century, off just 50 balls, as Ireland completed a stunning three-wicket win over England.

Shoulder to shoulder after quake tragedy

Australia and New Zealand players stood shoulder to shoulder and observed a minute's silence in Nagpur on February 25 in honour of the Christchurch earthquake victims. "We are neighbours and brothers," said Australia skipper Ricky Ponting.

Tait vs Tillakaratne

Aussie speedster Shaun Tait and Sri Lanka opener Tillakaratne Dilshan squared up and Tait won hands down. Dilshan edged through the slips to enrage the fiery Tait. The Sri Lankan then pulled away from the crease just as Tait went into his next delivery stride, before the speedster had his man next ball, courtesy of a slip catch.

Brother bother

Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal's calamitous performance behind the stumps against New Zealand unleashed a stream of criticism and paved the way for younger brother Umar to take over. That was until Umar hurt his finger and then his ankle and was accused by sections of the Pakistan media of feigning injury to save his brother's job.

Tweeting under fire

Burly West Indian opener Chris Gayle said he was terrified when the team bus was stoned in Dhaka following the win over Bangladesh. But his fear didn't affect his tweeting addiction. "This is ridiculous. World Cup with so much security and this happens. Big joke. Every player lay flat," he wrote on his Twitter account. He added: "This is bullshit.....Bangladesh stoning our bus!!! Freaking glass break!!! This is crap, can't believe..what next, bullets!!!!"

India and Pakistan united

The semifinal in Mohali between the two neighbours resulted in Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani accepting an invitation from Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh to attend the match. Both leaders met the players and stood side by side as the national anthems were played.

Hold the fireworks

Colombo organizers were a little too quick off the mark with the firework display arranged to coincide with the end of Muttiah Muralitharan's last appearance on home soil. Thilsan Samaraweera was still seeking the winning run against New Zealand when the night sky was prematurely lit up.

Sachin's title at the sixth attempt

World record breaking batsman Sachin Tendulkar was carried around the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai after finally capturing a World Cup winners medal at the sixth attempt. "Tendulkar has carried the burden of the nation for 21 years. It was time we carried him," said young teammate Virat Kohli.

Fight for your Country, Fight for our Glory

Hi all,

It is the eve of the world cup final and billions of people are in the sea of anxiety. Will this be the one destined to be the glory of Indian cricket? I don't know and don't want to know. I am afraid too much. It is not the first time I have kept my fingers crossed. I still remember 2003's world cup final. I know how fragile Indian bowling line up is.

India is a country where the sole driving force lies in its emotion. This is why we do wonders, we can turn every single match on its head, we can create history, but when it comes to our bowling side, they seem helpless. Couple of bad overs for them, make their heart dead, whole side looks like living corpses, gallery becomes graveyard. Nevertheless, I am optimistic. Experts won't count this team as one of the greatest Indian sides. But, my intuition says, "is it destined?" if it is then, I will be happy. Because, Indians were always the one who deserved it more, more specifically Sachin. Me and most probably none of his fans can realize how desperate he is for it, the only achievement he haunted for so long. He delivered tremendously in every single world cup, but it was always destiny who was ruthless to him. I am pretty sure that tomorrow, it will be the god of cricket who will write his own destiny and glory will be ours and only ours.

To the Indian team, my message will be "Fight for your country, fight for our glory"

Rhythm of Life-Music

Hi all,

I am right now listening soundtracks from Wake up Sid. Each one is awesome, somehow depicting the rhythm of life. They have all emerged from sargam. Yet they are so different, each one so special and touching in its own characteristics. They make us smile, we feel great.
I feel each of us like these different songs, each of us are having an unique rhythm of life. Just like a lyrics needs its own note and music only then it becomes a nice song, each one of us needs its unique rhythm and that would make life as musical as those songs. Then, the journey of our own life would give us the heavenly pleasure which we feel while listening to a nice song. Now, think what makes a perfect duet ;)

India just 2 Hops away from being World Champion

Hi all,

Oh.. what a match! I can still remember it was run a ball game and Dhoni went to the pavilion after playing consecutive suicidal shots. Immediately comments like "DHONI must take a lesson from his Australian counterpart...", "end of India's journey", "It is now very far!!!!!" flashed in my Facebook wall. But, Raina! what a man.. stood rock solid against the kangaroo attack. Yuvi was terrific. The prologue was meticulously written by the GOD, Sachin himself, Gambhir, Kohli Yuvi all completed the story nicely. It was the epilogue which we were waiting for. Dhoni and Yuvi was the chosen one for that stage of game. But, it was Suresh Raina who took the real responsibility of taking Brett Lee and co. and took the control of the match. Yuvi-Raina's knock made it one of the best sellers of world cricket. This Indian team has beaten Australia in the quarter final. Their confidence must be so high. Its time to white wash Pakistan in Semis. I am seeing the bull's eye, Indian team posing towards the world with ICC World Cup 2011 in hand :)
Go India Go! The Indians have started seeing the big dream... dream of being World Champion again....

A Handful of Colors in the Campus

Holi hai ... and dust of colors spreading in the air, making all of us more and more colorful. My face changes from dark black to dark green and at last the the Avatar look. My whole body is colored with a fantastic mixture of blue and green and people shouting all around. Such a delighted way of some young people enjoying with each other. Dancing in the mud, all forcefully being stretched in the mud, tearing the clothes and of course lots of mastis ;)

Particularly holi in iit has something more to enjoy than any other place. Hostel life, friends all around and you have so many friends with diverse cultures. It makes it a perfect place for a festival like holi where all the seven colors prevail together. I have seen so many different colors in the air as well as in the faces of my all friends here and most importantly they are all colors of happiness and joy.

Of course, the Gala Lunch in hostel mess and a nice conversation on Punjabi foods and cultures make it as one of the best holi i ever had. These surely, have colored the scrapbook of my entire life....I am loving the life at IIT Bombay, happy holi to all of youuuuuu... :)

Epsilon pagerank to Epsilon

I just found a nice online game on wormhole and could not stop posting it in my blog. These kind of games are necessary to keep me awake when I am doing project work for a long time. The game is named epsilon. I am sure this blog post will add epsilon pagerank to epsilon :)

Don't watch Tanu weds Manu!

Delhi waale manu (full name Manoj Sharma- madhavan), comes back to to India after 12 years to marry an Indian girl :) The guy is a bit extra gentleman type and well established doctor in London. On the day of reaching India, went to see a Kanpuria girl named tanu (full name Tanuja Trivedi- Kangana). Both the sides have given their consent to the marriage, only "ladka ladki ek dusre ko dekhne waale hai". The guy fall in love. Sounds good, but the girl is as expected has a boyfriend who is "awaara gunda" type. Wohi sari huyi ghisi piti hindi cinema. At some time, I thought this one has something special, but the poor dramatic ending with Jimmy Shergil's non-sense dialogue delivery makes it one of the worst movie in the decade.

Nevertheless, madhavan was quite well in his acting, though the character never suits him. He is better in a role with cool attiudes, like RDB or RHTDM type. I don't realize how he had chosen this role. He happens to be very comfortable with his acting, but this storyline is dead like hell. Kangana seemed very comfortable and good looking too, for the first time but I am waiting for the day when Kangana comes as something other than"daaru pine waali ladki". Kangana, please for god sake, take a break from that character.

There is nothing more to talk about this movie. It is advised not to watch this movie, better wait for the next releases.

ICC World Cup 2011 reveals new trends in ODI cricket

World Cup at its best. Every single ball counts, matches becoming more and more interesting and underdogs are firing bullet shots all over the ground. The notion of good teams, bad teams has been blurred, traditional cricket is stabbed by special pitches, mediocre bowling. Seems like I am watching baseball version of cricket. bowlers have nothing to do than to toss a coin. If the bat misses the ball he is hero else the ball goes to stands. Perhaps, it would not be unjustified to perceive that world cup 2011 officially declares a new era of world cricket, highly modified and influenced by 20-20 format of cricket.

If you are not convinced yet think from the point of view of that poor captain who has to decide who is to bowl next when 6 balls are left and 6 more runs to score. Obviously, it would have been a close match in say ICC world cup 1996 but today its simple equation. It is not hard to speculate today that the guy standing in the crease will swing the heavy wooden bat, if by chance it hits the ball once in multiple swings, match is over, so all the cricketing skills of the bowling have become obsolete as there is hardly anything you can expect from the pitch. After today's match where 296 is termed as not at all a good score, I am suddenly awake. what has happened to the game of cricket. Bowlers have hardly any respect, only yorkers still have some faith on it , others have faded away. Also, I doubt if the next generation bowlers would ever learn any bowling skills if the trend goes on like this. I strongly criticize the kind of pitch prepared in Indian subcontinent. This is spoiling the cricket, making it more interesting and eventful. Obviously if a batsman strikes it out of the ground, it is far more amusing than a quality in-swinging delivery, we are using this fact only. But, I think if we make it a batsman's game, something will be lost which will be hard to get back.

The Poetic Mind

Peeping out of my window I look at the sky
its full of clouds and birds are flying,
it brings to the life my poetic mind
deep in my heart that lives inside,
where soul is buried deep under the grave
i feel its presence, all its grace,
i keep myself busy in digging the soil
my mind is agile but kept in a foil,
i have the hope to rescue my soul
amidst so many dead who smell so foul,
like in a old church a lonely priest stays
my heart is temple, my soul there lays,
bells will be rung church will be lit
there will be enlightenment when we meet,
Sooner or later the day will come
the grave will be open my mind will be calm...

Kevin O'Brien broke the British Castle with six Sixes

Ireland has beaten England in the land of India. No no, I am not at all making any active passive mistake and also not drunk. Ireland, the name which many of us might ask a question about who the hell allowed them to enter into world cup cricket, has beaten England that too in the land which England had ruled for nearly 200 years. Today the Irish ship sailed without fear, to break the giant castle built by Trott and Bell. Kevin O'brien was the captain of that ship. Sailors were few tail ender batsmen. It was a target of 328, unbreakable and if broken then a new world record. But, I guess Kevin does not know language of statistics. So, he does not understand what all this statistics mean. He knows the language of boundaries and sixes and that is what was being displayed for nearly 10 overs. 50 balls, 100 runs as simple as that. Who says it is the fastest hundred in the history of World Cup, forget it, see six sixes, 13 boundaries, balls coming the slayer disappearing them to the spectators these worth more than mere figures. If Kevin started showing the dream of beating England then I must say Cusack, Mooney all believed it. Yes, the belief that Ireland can beat England and can chase 328, was the fuel and England was burnt in it. By the way, I must say if Irish believed it, then they should thank Strauss, who was blind in the field. He was spectating the match and praying that something happens. But, nevertheless, I have no intent to snatch the glory of Irish team. Go and have a lot of beverages, today is the day of glory for you guys.. Kevin you have made a history and we are glad to see you in the field :)

Magic Moments of ICC World CUP 2011

Hi all,

Today is 17th February, 2011 two arch rivals India and England. It had to be a special match. The opponents are equal in both strengths and full of aggression. But, who knew this day will remain special in the history of Cricket? Atleast, we, the hostelites of H-12 never expected this thrill. Rather some fools like me started saying "what a one sided match". Sorry, I forgot the mantra of Cricket "you never know, anything can happen"..

It was 338, a massive score from Indian batting line up. The laws of world cricket implying its impossible to chase this. But, Strauss had learned some different set of equations. He started with a boundary, with cool head. Throughout the innings English batsmen had only one answer to all variations of Indian bowling, throwing them to the gallery. The last equation I still remember was that England needs 61 out of 54 balls and had 8 wickets in hand. Strauss and Bell are taking singles like they are having morning walks in the M. Chinnaswamy garden.

But, God of cricket had some other plan. Zaheer bowled awesome yorkers, great awesome fieldings, sudden change in Indian team, all bowlers suddenly become alive in the field. English batting line up collapsed like anything. The atmosphere at the fifth floor of H-12 was electrifying. All shouting like anything, playing drums (should be saying kicking the drums). Suddenly it seemed there is some " charak mela" in the hostel and all kids are up there without the their parents around. Well, I was one of them and I hardly remember any day I had enjoyed a cricket match more than today. Well, I was one of the team leader of the shouts :) with little voice but great enthusiasm. It just when all smelt the victory, चावला घुमा दिया, बल घुमाके मैच को ही घुमा दिया " I wud say that was the turning point. None can afford two sixes at such conditions. I have hard people saying. " एक six हज़म हो भी जाता पर 2 sixes कैसे? "

The rest is best written in cricinfo.

Well well well. If it weren't for Munaf's short run from the last ball of India's innings India would have this game! Incredible match, Strauss's innings must rank as the best England ODI innings after Gooch's World Cup 115 in 1983. Fourth tied game in World Cup history. Breathless stuff, that game has twisted one way and another and again and another before ending up even. Ian Bell's Powerplay shot? India fluffing their last few overs with the bat? Misfields all round, all end up magnified. Even the SHORT run from Indian tail enders seemed to be the real culprit. It all happens when you end up tying up just because short of one run and it all happends in Cricket. Some love it, some feel bad, and some say these are the magic moments of cricket....

International Mother Language Day

Hi all,

Today is 21st February, the International Mother Language Day. According to Wikipedia, "International Mother Language Day is an observance held annually on 21 February worldwide to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and multilingualism".

Staying in IIT Bombay campus which is the hub of so many languages from all over the India (perhaps all over the world), I feel amazed how so many different but connected languages standing side by side form a circle of multilingualism. It is difficult to manifest how this circle of multilingualism makes our country culturally prosperous. During my stay here in natural language processing group, often I have felt the unerring presence of this mesmerizing sensation. I think today is the day for all of us to promote the richness of our own culture, show treasures of our own bag and appreciate the richness of other cultures.

Waaan cCrazyie trippp 2 paradice of Maharashtra

Hi all,
Well, did i mention, I have a nice & naughty group of friends out here? If i have not then telling about our recent trip to Panchgani can be a good starter for this. Yes, after Goa trip I was determined that this is the best group i can ever had to go for a journey. Panchgani, mahabaleswar all these are famous place, so how can i miss them? NO way.. I dont want to miss anything related to traveling. Atlast the opportunity and the luck went to my favor. We set for mahabaleswar this sunday. The night journey in the bus half filled with our huge gang was awesome. We shouted till all our energy was emptied. The other half of the bus was trying to go for a deep sleep, so silently throwed infinite curses to us but who cares? We were all drunk. Some drunk with "pepsi" and the rest of us were in full masti. I can still remember what we were shouting about and all...too "shariff" to write here :D
Well, it ended with a nice 1 hour sleep and with a bad news that the bus driver perhaps slept for a while in the night :D the bus is too late.... I felt instant mood swing. what cud be worst news that this. We are gonna miss "morning in hill station". Early morning is my fav and when it comes to a hill station, it is just amazing. I can't miss watching the distant sky suddenly filled with newly born rays of light and the beautiful mountains, the fog covering the valleys making it almost like a heaven. Fortunately i did not miss it :) We were just in time to reach panchgani. It is simply awesome man.. u go and watch the valleys.. I felt jealous for those blessed villagers who can seat in the front door of their home every morning and get overwhelmed at the sight of the sun peeping from behind the mountains.
well, all the ,magic of mahabaleswar lies in the path to it. From the bus you can see the heaven in ur eyes, but the main city is not at all interesting. There is nothing which can be a spot to visit. The small bazaar, temples and all have become blur in my memory. The next place was some point called "sati sabitri point", i dont know who gave such a terrible name to it.. it is beyond every beauty. Awesome, I doubt is there any sufficiently advanced camera in the world to capture that scene... well, sometimes, i feel technology are too perfect to understand that natural thing, natural beauty like that can only be appreciated by a human being and they can not be captured by anything.. It always flow. Like that wind, that sensation and the river which we suppose were there in the long past.. Right now may be my language has become grammatically incorrect, may be i am speaking with out making any sense,,,,,,,,,may be the whole blog had become haphazard, well dont blame me.. blame that place whose memory has made me "mesmerized"...
Last but not the least, our boat, rowing by myself, damC and paresh and competition between our group and the other group in boating was real fun. Well, it was my weirdest interest to row and i did it finally. I felt good when i actually learned how to row. may be some day in kerala i can join a a rowing team and participate in rowing games.. :D
Atlast, we came back, singing every single songs with noisy tones, shouting evry single minute with terrible sound.. and reached our home.. Powai, IIT bombay, H-12, A wing room no 227 :)

Dhobi Ghat in my eyes

Started watching the movie in my laptop when I was almost sure that it will be hard to complete. The reviews from my friends were as much negative.
But I find it different.. I always wanted a movie showcasing the lives of people like me, u and the others.. also i could never witness mumbai face to face.. some unknown power or may be the lack of opportunity restrcited my view to tourist spots only.. watching gateway and marine drive along with the artificial luxury of hiranandani always fools people like us. I had the wish to feel the heart of this Mumbai city like i did in kolkata.. i may not have spend enough time in Victoria , may not had long shopping session with gf in esplanade like the others but i can feel the beats of the that city Kolkata.. Likewise I had the wish to portray Mumbai in my mind.. dhobi ghat will remain in my heart for fullfilling all these.. it protrays mumbai.. the title seems to be perfect.. DHOBI GHAT.. mumbai is not about the money and opportunity.. its about the dreams mumbaiyas bear in their heart.. also the lives. people... their run for the mirages.. people with such dreams which he himself knows impossible in unconscious mind but still optimistic. thats the point i use to make.. mumbai and people here are different.. because of the optimism this city plants in its root??
also, the description of the mumbai city, people,, rain, bai and the sea was awesome.. how well she said when she saying "i can share all my secrets to it.. it will keep everything in it softly" .excellent thought..... sea, marine drive, and the dhobi ghat all these are unique for itself and the people who are related to it... all i can say is that kiran rao can see things which are hidden but mostly prevalent..no offence to al those who felt it bogus.. this is totally my view point.. evry one has its own taste ..own line of sight.. only thing i could not understand was the last picture.. the lady with her eyes filled with so much untold pain was awesome but the rest of the picture is still a riddle to me.... obviously this is a masterpiece but not to all....
